Catherine Pirotta was born in Lima, Peru, and is a graduate of UCLA Film School. She has written and directed numerous projects, receiving awards and recognition from various institutions, including Tribeca, Women in Film, and ABC.
Catherine’s first project Nobody’s Fault won the audience in her native Lima. Her screenplay Adopting Change received a “Recognition of Creative Excellence” from ABC. The film premiered at Edward James Olmos’ Los Angeles Latino International Film Festival, winning several awards across the film circuit.
She then went on to direct other award-winning film projects, including 5 Minutes (HBO New York Latino international Film Festival) and Dreamkiller.
Catherine’s most recent projects are the psychological thriller The Mystery of Casa Matusita and its sequel, The Five Guests, starring Academy Award nominee Catalina Sandino Moreno, Malcolm McDowell, Skeet Ulrich, and Bruce Davison.
She is currently developing the action|thriller Trail of the Mystics, based on the legendary Inca trail leading to Machu Picchu.
